emAIl Sentinel Pro™ — Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-08-31 Licensor: JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC ("we", "us", "our") Service: emAIl Sentinel Pro, a self-hosted email-alerting application (the "Service" or the "Software")
By downloading, installing, running, or purchasing a license for the Service you ("you", "your") agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not download, install, run, or use the Service.
Where the Service, a checkout page, or any related workflow presents an install, subscribe, purchase, checkbox, clickwrap, or similar acceptance mechanism, your use of that mechanism constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, organization, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" includes that entity.
1. Description of the Service
emAIl Sentinel Pro is a self-hosted application that you run on your own infrastructure (your own server, virtual machine, container host, or personal computer). It connects to one or more mailboxes you own — Microsoft 365 / Outlook (via Microsoft Graph) and/or Gmail (via the Gmail API) — continuously watches for new mail, evaluates each new message against rules you write in plain English using a large-language-model (LLM) provider of your choice (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Azure OpenAI, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint), and — when a rule matches — sends an alert via one or more channels you configure: SMS (through a third-party SMS provider of your choice, using credentials you supply), Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Outlook Calendar, Excel (OneDrive), Microsoft To Do, OneNote, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Tasks, Google Docs, or a generic HTTPS webhook.
Unlike the free emAIl Sentinel add-ins for Gmail and Outlook, the Pro Service runs continuously in the background on infrastructure you control, enabling near-real-time, 24/7 alerting via provider push (Microsoft Graph change notifications and Gmail push) and scheduled polling.
The Service is licensed software that you operate, not a hosted service that we operate. We do not run any backend that receives, stores, or processes your email, your credentials, or your rules. All such data resides on the infrastructure you control (see the Privacy Policy).
The Service is intended to help you turn your mailboxes from a passive inbox into a user-directed alert and workflow tool. By allowing you to define rules in plain English and choose the destinations for alerts, the Service can help you focus on messages that matter, reduce missed opportunities, improve response time, and build more efficient follow-up workflows for your business or professional work.
The practical value of the Service depends on how you configure it. You decide which mailboxes and folders are watched, which messages matter, what rules to create, and where alerts should be sent. The Service is designed to support your judgment and workflow, not to replace your own review of email, business decisions, legal obligations, or professional responsibilities.
1.1 Current Service Status
As of the effective date above, the Service is available for download and self-hosting under the license and pricing described in Section 6, including a free trial period. We may change features, pricing, or availability on notice as described in these Terms.
2. Eligibility, Intended Use, and Scope
Intended use. The Service is designed for self-notification and small-team alerting — you configure rules that fire alerts to yourself, or to a small number of colleagues, on-call recipients, or other people with whom you have a direct working relationship and from whom you have obtained any consent required for the channel in use (see Section 4.1 for SMS-specific consent obligations). The Service is not intended for, and Section 4 prohibits, use as a tool for unsolicited bulk or promotional SMS, mass-marketing outreach, scraping of contact information, or communication with individuals who have not opted in to hear from you.
The Service is built for practical everyday use by people whose work depends on timely email awareness. It is intended to support productivity, client service, sales follow-up, operational coordination, vendor management, project tracking, and other lawful professional workflows where a user wants a faster and more organized way to identify messages that may deserve attention.
The Service is designed for individuals, professionals, consultants, and small teams.
By downloading, installing, or using the Service you represent that:
- you are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) and capable of forming a binding contract;
- you are located in the United States and are not installing or using the Service on behalf of any individual or entity located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or any other jurisdiction outside the United States;
- you will connect the Service only to mailboxes you own or have the legal right to access, and will process only messages you have the legal right to access; and
- you are responsible for the security, configuration, and lawful operation of the server or device on which you run the Service.
Geographic scope. The Service is currently offered exclusively to users located in the United States. We may expand availability to additional jurisdictions in the future, at which point these Terms and our Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect the applicable foreign-law requirements (including any EU/UK GDPR obligations), and continued use after that update will be subject to the revised terms.
Regulated data. The Service is not designed for, and we do not hold ourselves out as compliant with, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX, GLBA, FERPA, or similar regulatory regimes. Because you self-host the Service, you are solely responsible for any regulatory obligations that attach to the data your deployment processes, for segregating regulated and non-regulated email, and for any consequences of comingling them.
JJJJJ does not offer a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, data processing addendum, enterprise agreement, managed service agreement, or regulated-industry addendum for the standard public launch unless JJJJJ separately signs one in writing. If your intended use would require any of those documents, or would require JJJJJ to meet a special legal, security, or regulatory standard, you must not use the standard Service for that purpose unless and until a separate written agreement is in place.
3. Your Server, Account, and Credentials
Because you self-host the Service, you are the operator of your deployment. You are responsible for: - the security, patching, network configuration, and physical or cloud security of the server or device on which you run the Service; - safeguarding the encryption key the Service uses to encrypt secrets at rest, and your database and its backups; - the security of any mailbox OAuth credentials and third-party API keys you enter into the Service (Microsoft/Google mailbox tokens, LLM provider keys, SMS provider credentials, webhook endpoints, etc.); and - complying with the terms of every third-party service you connect to the Service.
If you suspect that any credential has been compromised, revoke it at the issuing provider and remove it from the Service immediately.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use the Service to: - process email content that you do not have the legal right to access; - harass, defraud, impersonate, stalk, or surveil any person; - generate or distribute spam, phishing messages, or unsolicited bulk SMS; - violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right; - circumvent any rate limits, security controls, or quotas of Microsoft, Google, your LLM provider, your SMS provider, or any other integrated service; or - reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the Service except as permitted by law or by the LICENSE distributed with the Software.
You further agree NOT to use the Service to process: - Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA; - cardholder data as defined under PCI DSS; - sensitive personal information including racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, health information, sexual orientation, biometric or genetic data, or information that would constitute "sensitive personal information" under the California Privacy Rights Act, unless you have an independent lawful basis to process such information and appropriate safeguards in place; - personal information of children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction); or - classified, export-controlled, or attorney-client privileged information.
We may suspend or revoke your license if we reasonably believe you are violating these Terms.
You also agree not to use the Service as a life-safety system, emergency notification system, medical monitoring system, legal or regulatory compliance system of record, financial-trading alert system, employee-surveillance system, or other high-risk system where a missed, late, inaccurate, incomplete, or misdirected alert could cause material harm. The Service is an assistive workflow and notification tool only.
4.1 SMS Alerts — Your TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and Carrier Compliance Obligations
When you configure SMS as an alert channel, you, not JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC, are the sender of every SMS message dispatched by the Service on your behalf. You are solely responsible for:
- obtaining and documenting prior express consent (or, where applicable, prior express written consent) from each recipient phone number before any non-emergency informational SMS is dispatched, as required by the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. § 227, and implementing regulations at 47 C.F.R. § 64.1200;
- honoring opt-out requests (STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) within one (1) business day of receipt, as required by the TCPA and FCC rules;
- maintaining a written internal do-not-call / do-not-text list and retaining opt-out records for at least five (5) years as required by 47 C.F.R. § 64.1200 and FTC guidance;
- complying with the CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. § 7701 et seq.) to the extent it applies;
- complying with your chosen SMS provider's terms of service, acceptable use policy, and carrier-imposed messaging rules (including 10DLC registration for US A2P traffic, STIR/SHAKEN, or similar carrier requirements);
- complying with all applicable state laws, including the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act, Washington RCW 80.36, and any other state statute regulating SMS marketing or informational text;
- if your recipients are outside the United States, complying with local electronic-marketing law (GDPR ePrivacy Directive, Canada CASL, UK PECR, Australia Spam Act, etc.).
We do not track, verify, document, or audit recipient consent on your behalf. The Service ships built-in opt-in recording and STOP/START/HELP handling, but you remain responsible for obtaining and documenting consent, for configuring the inbound webhook that makes opt-out handling work, and for meeting every obligation in this Section. You indemnify JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC for any claim, fine, settlement, or cost arising from your failure to comply with this Section — see Section 11.
SMS alerts are a convenience feature and should not be treated as guaranteed delivery infrastructure. SMS delivery can be affected by provider outages, carrier filtering, registration requirements, rate limits, handset settings, number blocking, network conditions, and recipient behavior. You remain responsible for determining whether SMS is appropriate for your use case and for independently monitoring communications that are important to you.
5. Third-Party Services
The Service depends on, and transmits data to, third-party services that you choose to enable, including but not limited to: - Microsoft 365 / Outlook (Microsoft Graph) and Google / Gmail — the mailboxes you connect and watch, and the native alert channels (Calendar, Excel, To Do, OneNote, Google Calendar/Sheets/Tasks/Docs, Teams, Google Chat) you write to using your own OAuth credentials. - Your chosen LLM provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Azure OpenAI, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) — receives email metadata and body excerpts for rule evaluation and alert formatting, using the endpoint and API key you provide. - Your chosen SMS provider (any provider you configure by supplying your own credentials or a generic HTTPS webhook URL) — receives recipient phone numbers and alert text when you enable SMS. - Stripe (our payment processor) — processes your payment. Your card details go to Stripe directly; we never receive or store them. Stripe does not issue your license key — we do. See Section 6.3.
Your use of each third-party service is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, accuracy, or legality of any third-party service. Charges, quotas, and rate limits imposed by third-party providers are your responsibility.
Third-party integrations are provided to make the Service more useful, but they remain under the control of the applicable third party or the endpoint you configure. JJJJJ does not control third-party APIs, pricing, quotas, usage limits, service changes, data handling, security practices, outages, suspensions, or policy decisions. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the terms, policies, billing requirements, and technical requirements of each third-party service you connect.
Third-party cost estimates — including SMS delivery estimates, AI or model pricing, platform fees, carrier charges, webhook fees, or other integration costs — are for convenience only and may become inaccurate. You are responsible for confirming current third-party pricing, quotas, billing practices, usage limits, taxes, and policies directly with the applicable provider before using or relying on any integration.
Use of third-party names, trademarks, logos, service marks, product names, or integration names in the Service, documentation, interface, help materials, marketplace listing, or marketing materials is solely to identify compatible, connected, or user-configured services. Those references do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, partnership, certification, or approval by any third party unless expressly stated in writing. These trademark, affiliation, and endorsement notices are included in these Terms so that no separate disclaimer document needs to operate as a separate agreement.
5.1 Related JJJJJ Enterprises Products
Our website may display links to other products operated by JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC, including the free emAIl Sentinel add-ins for Gmail and Outlook, Natty the Nocrastinator™ (a Google Calendar add-on for milestone reminders), PilotTrainerHQ (pilottrainerhq.com), and PlaneFacts (planefacts.online). Those products are separate services governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. The free emAIl Sentinel add-ins are distinct from this self-hosted Pro Service and are governed by their own terms.
6. License, Fees, Subscriptions, and Refunds
6.1 License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and the LICENSE distributed with the Software, and (after any trial period) to your holding a valid license key, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run the Service on infrastructure you control, for your own self-notification and small-team alerting use. You may run the Service on as many of your own machines as you reasonably need for that use. Your household is included at no extra charge. You may create additional sign-ins on your install for the people you live with; each gets their own mailboxes, rules, and alerts, and there is no per-person fee and no seat limit. You may not resell, sublicense, or offer the Service as a hosted service to third parties without a separate written agreement.
Which plan covers you. This grant is scoped by the plan you hold. The Personal plans (Section 6.2) cover you, your household, and your work as a sole practitioner — an individual working for themselves, such as a freelancer or independent consultant, with no employees. The Business plan is required where the Service is used by or on behalf of an organization that has employees, or where you use it in the course of employment by another person or entity. Head count does not change the price on either plan: both cover as many people on your install as you actually have.
6.2 Plans and Pricing
- Personal — Subscription — USD $15 per month or USD $150 per year, at the price published at checkout at the time of purchase ("List Price"). Includes software updates and support while the subscription is active.
- Personal — Lifetime — a one-time purchase of USD $149 as a launch price, available to the first 100 purchasers only; once 100 lifetime licenses have been sold, the lifetime price becomes USD $199. A lifetime license includes all updates and does not recur (see Section 6.12 for scope and discontinuation).
- Business — USD $49 per month or USD $490 per year, for use by or on behalf of an organization with employees (see Section 6.1). Covers unlimited people on your install and includes software updates. Business support requests are placed ahead of other requests in the queue; support otherwise remains as described in Section 16, and no response time, service level, or uptime is promised on any plan. Offered as a subscription only; there is no lifetime Business license.
Features and List Prices are described on the product landing page (jjjjjenterprises.com/emailsentinel/pro), the in-app configuration UI, and the repository documentation. We reserve the right to change features or List Prices on notice as described in Section 6.6.
6.3 Seller and Payment Processor
JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC is the seller and merchant of record for all purchases of the Service. Your purchase contract is with us, and we are responsible for the sale, for issuing your license key, for refunds under Section 6.7, and for collecting and remitting applicable United States sales tax under Section 6.8.
Payments are processed by Stripe, acting as our payment processor and not as a merchant of record. You submit your card details directly to Stripe; we do not collect, store, or process your payment card details and never see your full card number. Stripe's terms and privacy policy govern its handling of the payment transaction, in addition to these Terms.
Your license key is issued by us, not by the payment processor.
6.4 Free Trial and Offline Grace
The Service includes a 14-day free trial that begins the first time you run it; no license key or payment information is required to start the trial. When the trial ends, enter a valid license key (obtained from a purchase under Section 6.2) into your configuration and restart to continue receiving alerts.
Because the Service is self-hosted, it validates your license key against our licensing service (Section 6.9). If that validation service is temporarily unreachable, the Service continues to operate under a 7-day offline grace period using your last successful validation, so a transient network problem does not interrupt your alerts.
6.5 Auto-Renewal
Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period for another equivalent period at the then-current List Price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from the subscription-management link in your purchase receipt, which opens the Stripe-hosted billing portal; cancellation stops future renewals but does not entitle you to a refund of the current period's fee except as required by law or under Section 6.7.
California auto-renewal disclosure (Business & Professions Code § 17600 et seq.): (i) the subscription will continue until you cancel; (ii) we will notify you of material subscription term changes at least 7 days before any change takes effect; (iii) cancellation can be performed entirely online through the billing portal linked from your purchase receipt — no phone call or additional steps are required; (iv) you will be charged at the start of each renewal period at the then-current price.
FTC Click-to-Cancel compliance: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the same online mechanism used to subscribe, without being required to speak with a representative, complete additional steps beyond the cancellation itself, or accept additional offers as a condition of cancellation.
6.6 Price Changes
We may change List Prices from time to time. A price change will not affect the current paid billing period. For monthly subscribers we will give at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect at renewal; for annual subscribers we will give at least 60 days' notice. Notice will be delivered by email to the address associated with your purchase. If you do not want to renew at the new price, cancel before the renewal date. Lifetime licenses are not subject to recurring fees.
6.7 Refunds and Cancellation
Subscriptions. Within 14 days of the initial purchase or first renewal charge, you may request a refund, provided you have not substantially used the Service during the period. Outside the 14-day window, subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable U.S. state or federal law. You may cancel at any time to stop future renewals.
Lifetime. Refundable within 30 days of purchase, less any portion corresponding to substantial use. After 30 days, non-refundable.
Refund requests must be sent to sentinel-billing@jjjjjenterprises.com with your purchase email address and order ID. Approved refunds are issued by us to your original payment method through Stripe, and may take several business days to appear on your statement. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in revocation of your license.
6.8 Taxes
List Prices are exclusive of any applicable sales, use, or other transaction taxes. Because the Service is offered only in the United States (Section 2), we collect and remit United States state and local sales tax where we are required to do so, calculated from the billing address you provide at checkout. Any tax due is shown before you complete the purchase.
6.9 License Verification
Continued use of the Service's alerting requires periodic license validation. Your deployment contacts our licensing service to confirm your license is active; that request carries your license key, a randomly generated installation identifier, the software version, and the platform — and nothing else. No email content, credentials, rules, or recipient information is transmitted. See the Privacy Policy Sections 2 and 11.
If validation cannot reach our service, the Service keeps running on its last successful result for an offline grace period (Section 6.4), so a transient network problem does not interrupt your alerts. Beyond that window the behavior in Section 6.10 applies.
We may suspend or revoke a license following a refund, a chargeback, or a breach of these Terms, and that suspension takes effect at your deployment's next validation.
6.10 Unlicensed and Lapsed Behavior
If your trial ends without a valid key, your subscription lapses, or your license is otherwise invalid and any offline grace period has expired, the Service continues to run and watch your mailboxes but suppresses alert dispatch. Messages seen during an unlicensed period are marked as seen and will not be retroactively alerted when a valid key is later added. Your rules, settings, and stored data are preserved; entering a valid key restores dispatch going forward. We will not silently delete your data due to a lapse.
6.11 Third-Party Charges
Independent of your emAIl Sentinel Pro license, third-party services you enable may charge you directly (for example, your SMS provider may bill per message, your LLM provider may bill per token, and your cloud host may bill for the server you run the Service on). Those charges are strictly between you and the third-party provider. We do not collect, remit, or refund third-party charges.
6.12 Fair Use, Lifetime Scope, and Discontinuation
The Service is licensed for individual and small-team use. We may revoke a license we reasonably determine is being abused (including resale or hosted-service operation without a separate agreement, or systematic license-validation circumvention).
A lifetime license grants use of the Service, including updates, for the life of the Service — for as long as JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC continues to develop and distribute it. Because the Service is self-hosted, a copy you have already installed will continue to run on your own infrastructure regardless of our future business decisions; a lifetime license does not expire. If we discontinue development or distribution, we will give lifetime holders at least 90 days' prior written notice by email to the address associated with their purchase. No refund is owed upon discontinuation after the initial 30-day refund window (Section 6.7).
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all source code, design, documentation, and trademarks, is owned by JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to install and use the Service in accordance with these Terms and the LICENSE file, no rights are transferred to you.
You retain all rights in any rules, settings, recipient lists, and email content that you supply to the Service. Because you self-host, that data resides on your own infrastructure; we do not receive or store it.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, JJJJJ grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Service for your own authorized personal or internal business purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, host, resell, provide managed services using, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, extract source code from, or create derivative works based on the Service except as expressly permitted by law or by JJJJJ in writing.
As between you and JJJJJ, you retain rights in your email content, rules, settings, recipient lists, credentials, and other information you provide or configure. JJJJJ's rights to access, process, transmit, and use that information are limited to what is necessary to provide, operate, secure, troubleshoot, support, and improve the Service as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy, which for this Service means we do not receive that information at all.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to the Privacy Policy in PRIVACY.md, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Disclaimers
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS OUR WARRANTIES AND AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- the Service will detect every relevant email;
- alerts will be delivered promptly, in order, or at all;
- your chosen LLM provider's evaluation of any rule will be correct; or
- third-party SMS providers will deliver any given message.
Because the Service runs on infrastructure you operate, the availability and reliability of your alerts also depend on your own server, network, database, and configuration, which are your responsibility.
You must not rely on the Service for life-safety, medical, financial-trading, regulatory-compliance, or any other use where a missed or late alert could cause material harm.
All disclaimers applicable to the Service are included in these Terms. We do not maintain a separate standalone disclaimer document as an operative agreement. If any separate disclaimer page, help article, support page, marketing page, marketplace statement, or promotional statement conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control.
Dependencies. The Service depends on your own infrastructure, Microsoft Graph, the Gmail API, IMAP hosts, your chosen LLM provider, provider push notifications, API quotas, SMS providers, carriers, webhook endpoints, and the license-validation service, third-party integrations, network connectivity, and your own configuration. Any of those services, systems, providers, settings, or dependencies may experience outages, delays, quota exhaustion, rate limiting, carrier filtering, degraded performance, policy changes, pricing changes, suspension, revocation, or discontinuation without notice. JJJJJ has no obligation or ability to override a decision by any third-party provider to restrict, suspend, revoke, or discontinue access.
AI outputs. Rule evaluation and alert message generation involve AI-generated outputs from your chosen LLM provider. AI-generated outputs are probabilistic, not deterministic, and may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, delayed, or misleading. False positives and false negatives are expected. You should not make consequential decisions based solely on alerts, summaries, classifications, extracted information, or other AI-generated outputs without independently reviewing the underlying email content and surrounding facts.
No guarantee of results. JJJJJ does not warrant or guarantee that the Service will check every message, evaluate every rule, dispatch every alert, preserve every opportunity, improve response time, increase revenue, prevent missed business, satisfy any legal or regulatory requirement, or produce any particular personal, professional, operational, or business result.
Marketing and documentation. Feature descriptions, integration lists, screenshots, pricing summaries, examples, help materials, documentation, website copy, marketplace text, promotional emails, support communications, and other product or marketing content are provided for informational purposes only. They may describe current or intended functionality at the time of publication and may change. No marketing or promotional statement is a warranty, guarantee, service level commitment, promise of revenue, promise of business improvement, or contractual obligation except to the extent expressly stated in these Terms or in another written agreement signed by JJJJJ.
No professional advice. Nothing in the Service, alerts, summaries, rule evaluations, outputs, documentation, support communications, website materials, examples, or marketing materials constitutes legal, medical, financial, tax, security, compliance, employment, business, or other professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals before making decisions that require professional advice or specialized judgment.
10. Limitation of Liability
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT LIMITS OUR FINANCIAL LIABILITY TO YOU.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC or its officers, employees, or agents be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Nothing in this Section 10 excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the mandatory law of your jurisdiction, including (without limitation) liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded. If any limitation in this Section is held unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that limitation will not apply to you; the remaining limitations will continue in full force and effect.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree that any claim arising out of or relating to the Service must be asserted, if at all, against JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC and not against any individual officer, director, employee, contractor, developer, support provider, agent, or other person acting on JJJJJ's behalf. Those individuals are intended third-party beneficiaries of this paragraph and may enforce it to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC and its affiliates, officers, and employees from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: - your use or operation of the Service, including the security and configuration of the infrastructure you run it on; - your configuration of monitored mailboxes, rules, alert recipients, SMS numbers, API keys, webhooks, or third-party integrations; - your failure to obtain required consents, permissions, authorizations, or legal rights to access, process, transmit, or use email content or recipient information; - your use of the Service with regulated data, sensitive data, confidential data, personal information, PHI, cardholder data, children's data, or other information that is not permitted or appropriate for the standard Service; - any SMS, telemarketing, electronic communications, carrier, consent, opt-out, do-not-contact, or similar claim arising from alerts you configure or send through the Service; - your violation of these Terms; - your violation of any law or third-party right; or - the email content, rules, or recipient lists you supply to the Service.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it from your infrastructure. We may stop distributing or updating the Service, or revoke a license for breach of these Terms, at any time, with or without notice (subject to the 90-day notice obligation for lifetime holders in Section 6.12). A copy you have already installed will continue to run on your own infrastructure subject to license validity. Sections 4–11 and 13–22 survive termination.
Termination, suspension, downgrade, or discontinuation may affect your ability to use rules, alerts, paid features, integrations, or settings. You are responsible for exporting or preserving information you need from your own infrastructure and mailboxes or connected services. JJJJJ is not responsible for information that remains in, is deleted from, or becomes unavailable through any third-party service.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes (including changes to pricing, refund terms, liability limitations, dispute resolution, or data practices), we will notify you by email to the address associated with your purchase at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Non-material changes (such as formatting, clarification, or correction of typographical errors) take effect when posted. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the latest revision. Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a material change, you must stop using the Service before the change takes effect.
JJJJJ may continue to improve the Service to make it more useful for individuals, professionals, consultants, and small teams. Future improvements may include additional alert channels, additional marketplace support, rule-building tools, workflow features, integrations, team features, administrative controls, or other functionality designed to help users manage email-driven work more efficiently. Some future features may require additional terms, different pricing, a separate written agreement, or additional privacy and security disclosures.
We commit to reviewing these Terms and the Privacy Policy at least annually, and more frequently if material changes to the Service or to applicable law require. Annual reviews do not necessarily result in textual changes; they confirm that the documents remain accurate.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Nothing in this Section affects mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence, which apply notwithstanding the choice of Texas law.
15. Dispute Resolution
15.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you and JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by sending a written description of the claim to the other party (you to legal@jjjjjenterprises.com, we to the email associated with your purchase). Each party will have 60 days from receipt of the notice to negotiate a resolution. If the dispute is not resolved within this period, either party may proceed under Section 15.2.
15.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved under Section 15.1 will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. Arbitration will be conducted by a single arbitrator, in English, and (at your election) in person in Bexar County, Texas, or remotely by videoconference or telephone. The arbitrator may award the same relief that a court could award, including injunctive or declaratory relief, but only to the extent required to satisfy your individual claim.
Class-action waiver. You and JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC each agree that any dispute resolution proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis and not as part of a class, consolidated, or representative action. If a court or arbitrator determines that this class-action waiver is unenforceable as to a particular claim, then that claim (and only that claim) must be severed from any arbitration and may be brought in court.
Small-claims exception. Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court in Bexar County, Texas (or your county of residence, at your election) if the claim qualifies under that court's jurisdictional limits.
Fees. JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC will pay all AAA filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for claims under $10,000 (USD), unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. For claims above $10,000, fees are allocated per the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules.
15.3 Opt-Out
You may opt out of the arbitration and class-action waiver provisions in Section 15.2 by sending written notice to legal@jjjjjenterprises.com within 30 days of your first purchase or first installation of the Service, stating your name, purchase email, and that you opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, USA, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
15.4 Continued Court Jurisdiction
For users who opt out of arbitration or for claims excluded from arbitration, any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Texas, USA, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Updates, Support, and Distribution
While your license or trial is valid, we make software updates available through the Service's normal distribution channels (direct download, container registry, and, where offered, cloud-marketplace images). Support is provided on a commercially reasonable basis by email to sentinel-support@jjjjjenterprises.com and through the project's public issue tracker. The Service is operated by a very small team, and support is offered on that basis: no guaranteed response time, service level, or uptime commitment applies to any plan. Business-plan requests are answered ahead of other requests, which is an ordering of the queue and not a promise about the clock.
If you obtain or deploy the Service through a third-party cloud marketplace (for example, the AWS Marketplace or the DigitalOcean Marketplace), that marketplace's terms apply to your acquisition and billing through it in addition to these Terms. We do not currently hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PCI DSS certifications. Security documentation available on request at legal@jjjjjenterprises.com is limited to our data-handling representations in the Privacy Policy and our description of the Service's at-rest encryption of secrets.
17. Export Controls
You may not use, export, or re-export the Service in violation of any U.S. or other applicable export control laws and regulations.
18. Force Majeure
Neither party will be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, pandemic, war, terrorism, labor disputes, power failures, internet or telecommunications outages, or failures of third-party infrastructure. This provision does not excuse payment obligations.
19. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, provided the assignee agrees to be bound by these Terms. Any attempted assignment in violation of this Section is void.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the LICENSE (at the repository root), the Privacy Policy, the disclaimer provisions included in these Terms, and any purchase-flow terms presented at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC concerning the Service and supersede any prior agreement on the subject. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
Any separate disclaimer page we publish is a convenience summary only and does not operate as a separate agreement; if it conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control.
22. Copyright / DMCA Notice and Takedown
If you believe that any material made available through the Service (including marketing pages, documentation, or in-app content) infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), to:
Designated Copyright Agent JJJJJ Enterprises, LLC legal@jjjjjenterprises.com
Your notice must include (i) your physical or electronic signature; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (iii) identification of the allegedly infringing material and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it; (iv) your address, telephone number, and email address; (v) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
We will respond to properly formed notices within 10 business days. Counter-notices may be submitted per 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) to the same address.
Repeat infringer policy. In appropriate circumstances we will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers, consistent with § 512(i).
